The storms at high elevation during monsoon season are powerful and full of lightning and thunder. If you ever get caught in one, it can make you feel small and powerless. On one stormy day in July, there was an eerily calm feeling when we rode through a high pass on the Colorado Trail in the midst of a building storm; luckily our group made it down to the next valley before the tempest decided to unleashed on us.
